Job purpose

Working in the Delivery Centre of Excellence, this role will be involved in a range of digital product outcomes, with the Scrum Master assignment focusing in on our exciting developments within Digital Wealth for our clients. As part of our investment in the future, we are building our digital capability within our site in Bracknell, with some hybrid working.

Our strategy is to put the power of good advice into more hands. To deliver on this promise we are building a new wealth management service for next generation clients; to help them plan and manage their financial future. This service will combine the best of great digital product design and wealth management expertise.

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join a fast paced and exciting programme team.  In this role you will be helping our team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate to assist cross functional teams in meeting their delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create great outcomes and products that delight our clients and give them a fantastic digital experience
  • Create an environment which moves teams towards high performing teams 
  • Ensure the teams remain focussed on what our clients are telling us and help drive innovation across the product
  • Drive delivery of the client outcomes in line with business expectations
  • Be able to report on progress to non-technical stakeholders
  • Coach the Agile team in applying Lean Agile and Scrum to achieve business value  
  • Facilitate Agile team ceremonies & practices  
  • Work to remove impediments and blockers for the team 
  • Coach stakeholders in expectations from Lean Agile and Scrum Framework  
  • Ensure key stakeholders are active in relevant ceremonies  
  • Ensure the goals, scope and product domain are understood by everyone within the team
  • Utilise techniques for effective backlog management, including the creation of clear user journeys
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and the development teams
  • Work with the Product Owner, Business Analysts and teams to ensure the backlog is current and prioritised  

Qualifications

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven Scrum Master experience  
  • Knowledge of multiple agile methodologies and frameworks (eg Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience of software development lifecycle  
  • Ability to lead, coach and influence team in adopting the Lean Agile principles    
  • Ability to ensure the appropriate use of Scrum/Kanban process; ability to adapt is essential.
  • Ability to manage complex project(s) simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and help team remove impediments.  
  • Excellent communication in addition to collaboration, analytical and presentation skills; ability to synthesize complex data into actionable presentations/reports and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients  
  • Self-motivation, self-direction, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines       
  • Excellent verbal communication, influencing and facilitation skills  
  • High level of credibility with executives and business partners; demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and drive to results  
  • Strong JIRA & Confluence experience   
  • Big picture thinking and commercial awareness  
  • Strong reporting and metrics generation skills  
  • Financial services experience desirable 
  • Qualified Scrum Master, with some knowledge of SAFe being beneficial

The successful candidate will need to work from our Glasgow office a minimum of 2 days per week.
